by Jack Broadey @J3cK_b

Former UFC fighter Paul Kelly has today been found guilty of trafficking Heroin following a 4 day trial; he has been remanded in custody. Kelly was released by the UFC in 2011 after a loss to Donald Cerrone at UFC 126.

Kelly himself was never found with drugs on his possession and the trial centered around him and his dealings with his best friend Christopher St John McGirr,  28. The pair were apparently known as Batman and Robin by there alleged customers the court heard. The court claimed the pair used couriers to move drugs as not to be directly involved themselves.

McGirr pledged guilty to his part in the crime whilst Kelly has long maintained his innocence. Kelly claimed during the trial he had no need to deal drugs due to the money he has earned in his MMA career.

Sentencing is expected next month.
