Swedish UFC lightweight fighter Reza 'Mad Dog' Madadi was arrested in the early hours of Friday 24th May, following a robbery at a luxury fashion boutique Bottega Veneta.

“Expressen.se alleges that Madadi and his accomplices were banging against the door of the shop for five minutes before obtaining entry. Once inside a staff member said they cleared the store of expensive handbags estimated to be around the value of 1 million kronor ($150,000 USD). The police set upon tracking down the get-away vehicle and were successful.”

His lawyer issued a short statement saying " My client denies all charges against him. I cannot say much more until we see how this evolves"

Reza Madadi (13-3) last fought in April in Stockholm defeating Michael Johnson via submission and earning himself a 'submission of the night' bonus of $60,000 on top of his fight purse.

Madadi was scheduled to fight The Ultimate Fighter 15 winner and undefeated fighter Michael Chiesa at UFC on Fox 8, but had to withdraw due to other visa issues.

If convicted, Madadi could face up to 6 years in prison and certainly ending his UFC career. As soon as more news comes out on this story we will keep you all up to date.
