Simeon Thoresen is the latest addition to the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship roster
Thoresen (17-4-1) has signed a five-fight deal, which will see him compete exclusively for CWFC over a minimum period of 18 months.
The Norwegian welterweight, who previously fought under the CWFC banner in 2008, joins the promotion following a three-fight stint with the UFC.
Having submitted Besam Yousef in his UFC debut in April 2012, Thoresen will be eager to returning to winning ways with Cage Warriors following losses to Seth Baczynski and David Mitchell.
A submission specialist, Thoresen has taken all but one of his 17 professional wins inside the distance, 15 of which have come by way of tap-out.
The 29-year-old holds other notable wins over the likes of Fabricio Nascimento and current CWFC star and fellow UFC veteran John Maguire.
He said:
“Cage Warriors is a great organisation, very professionally run, and I’m excited to be a part of it. I’m really excited about fighting again in 2014.”Kingdom MMA's opinion:
This addition continues to add even more strength to Cage Warriors already stacked welterweight division and will lead to some great match ups for the division in 2014. The timing of the announcement fits perfectly if Thoresen wanted to make his Cage Warriors return in Scandinavia with Cage Warriors 66 taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark on March 22nd.
